Selecting the right leather cord for your bracelet making is the most important part. It is available in various shapes and designs- round, flat, braided, suede, printed, hair-on leather, nappa leather or Italian leather are popularly used for women and men. As an alternative to leather, you can use faux cords or cotton cords for affordable prices.
Silk cords in various colors can be mixed, creatively tailored and perfectly combined with gemstones, beads or pearls. It has great demand in Italian and Spanish markets among the EU.
♦ Tips for cutting cords, using glue and clasp.
The length of the leather cord can be taken according to the requirement of one's wrist, depending on if it is single strand or multi-strands. For women’s bracelet, we normally make a cut of 16-20 cm and 19 – 24 cm for men’s bracelet. According to the leather cord, clasps are available with the same shape. For round leather cord, you can use round clasp and for the flat leather cord, you can use flat clasp. It is all about your creativity.
While using glue to stick the cord and the clasp, ensure that you do not use too much to prevent it from spreading out.
